To honor the legendary creator and artist
Jack Kirby (http://kirbymuseum.org) we will be raising funds in his name all month for the Hero Initiative (http://heroinitiative.org), a resource dedicated to helping comic creators in need.

Kirby marked the comics industry with his distinct design of costumes, machines, and the shape and style of the characters he drew.

Did you know that the majority of characters and series that are credited as being "by Stan Lee" were actually formed by Jack Kirby?
That many of the wildly imaginative stories were drawn first, with Lee writing the dialogue after?

Kirby Krackle, also known as Kirby Dots (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kirby_Krackle) is an artistic convention in superhero and science fiction comic books and similar illustrations,
in which a field of black, pseudo-
fractal images is used to represent negative space around unspecified kinds of energy.

Kirby Krackles are typically used in illustrations of explosions, smoke, the blasts from ray guns, "cosmic" energy, and outer space phenomena.
